Wisconsin lands transfer cornerback from Oklahoma State

6 days ago 2

The Wisconsin Badgers have hit the ground running in the transfer portal. The program has added yet another commitment, this one from Oklahoma State transfer cornerback Eric Fletcher. Fletcher had originally scheduled visits to both Florida and Arkansas, but ended up cancelling those two trips after he visited Madison.

Fletcher had a quiet but productive year at Oklahoma State, recording three pass break-ups and nine solo tackles in eight games. Some metrics suggest that Fletcher was one of the more talented defensive backs in the Big 12 last season. Fletcher had a forced incompletion rate of 23.1%, which ranked third among Big 12 cornerbacks. In addition, he held his matchups to only 0.56 yards per snap, ranking sixth in the conference. Finally, he recorded a ProFootballFocus grade of 86.1, which ranked seventh in the Big 12.

The Badgers had a depleted defensive back room in 2025; starting cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean and safety Preston Zachman missed significant time, with Fourqurean sidelined for the entire year due to a waiver issue. Adding a young player like Fletcher, who has three seasons of eligibility remaining, gives Wisconsin more options in the room, while also making sure the future of the position is somewhat accounted for.

New cornerbacks coach Robert Steeples is making an impact early in his time with the program. He'll look to continue that progress throughout the current transfer cycle.
