Week 18 could be worth a lot of money for 2 Commanders' stars

It's bonus season around the NFL. As we enter Week 18, several NFL players have already hit contract escalators, triggering guarantees and extra cash. For some, they need to do a little bit more. While Sunday's regular-season finale means nothing in the standings, it could mean a lot financially for two Washington Commanders.

Linebacker Von Miller is a future Hall of Famer. Signed in training camp to provide some pass-rush juice, Miller has had to play more than anticipated. He's delivered, too. Miller leads the Commanders with eight sacks. If he reaches nine sacks, he gets a $1 million bonus. It's actually an extra $500K, as Miller received the first $500K when he reached seven sacks.

If Miller gets two sacks against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, it would give him 10 on the season, which would be the most for him in a single season since 2018. If Miller gets three sacks, he'd hit $1.5 million in bonuses. You can bet Miller will be hunting Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, or whoever lines up center for the Eagles on Sunday.

Sunday could also be big for wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Samuel has 70 receptions for 707 yards and five touchdowns heading into Week 18. Samuel already picked up bonuses for his big game against Dallas last week for reaching 70 receptions and 700 receiving yards.

Samuel has received $450K in bonuses for reaching 70 receptions and a $250K bonus for hitting 700 receiving yards. He has six total touchdowns on the season (5 receiving, 1 rushing). If Samuel can get eight touchdowns on the season, it would trigger another $250K bonus. Also, with 97 receiving yards on Sunday, Samuel would receive an additional $200K. Those are the most attainable bonuses for Samuel in Week 18. He could hit even more, but he'd need to be very busy. If Samuel can catch 10 passes on Sunday, it would trigger an additional $200K.

Miller and Samuel have been two of Washington's most consistent and productive performers in 2025, despite an overall disappointing year. Both will be free agents in March.
