Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence received a real grill from teammates after AI memes of him went viral

Trevor Lawrence’s smile just got a major upgrade.
After AI-generated memes of the 26-year-old Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback wearing a grill and gold chain went viral, his teammates decided to mark the moment — and the team’s AFC South Championship win — with a flashy gift: a real grill.

The surprise was captured in a video posted to the team’s Instagram on Jan. 4. Cornerback Jarrian Jones, 24, approached Lawrence and explained how much he and the team appreciated him.
“We know there’s a meme that’s kinda going viral, so we got you your own grill,” Jones said, presenting the gift. Lawrence grabbed it, threw his hands in the air and yelled, “Yes!”
The locker room erupted as Lawrence took the grill out of its case, slipped it on, and flashed a grin. Teammates cheered, shouted “Yah!!!” and celebrated alongside him, capturing the playful energy of the moment.
Later, during a press conference, Lawrence reflected on the fun surprise.

"Yeah, I don't know if you guys saw, I got a grill," he said in a video posted on TikTok by Sports Illustrated. "I didn't wear it up here, but yeah. There's been some pictures going around for the last month or so — an AI picture of me with a grill on. It was pretty funny, and people have been asking when I was going to get one."
He laughed as he added, "I didn't plan on getting one, but some guys from the team, and then my wife — I think somehow she was involved with getting my teeth measurements — made it happen. It fit perfectly, so something's going on there."
Lawrence continued, "It's just pretty funny. It's been awesome this year with the team, just how close we are. I think that's a really fun part of it."
Prior to this, the AI moment had actually been brewing among the team for weeks. In December, the Jaguars’ X account posted a video showing the printed-out viral image to individual team members in the locker room.

"Nah, that's funny, that's funny," one player said. "I want to see Trev with a grill for real."
"Like, imagine rocking those in a game," another player added.
"I wish this was every day," another teammate chimed in. "He needs to get a grill or a chain this offseason, or whenever he gets it. I think he should really — this could be his personality from now on."
"When they say AI is taking over, this is exactly what they mean 🤖," the team captioned the post on X.
