It’s been less than a week since the regular season came to an end, and general manager Mike Borgonzi is working overtime with the first round of interviews for the Tennessee Titans' open head coaching position.
By Thursday afternoon, the Titans were already talking with 11 candidates, and that number continued to grow with each turn. And it did by the early evening, when NFL insider Ian Rapoport added veteran head coach Mike McCarthy to the list.

While McCarthy’s name has often been mentioned in connection with the opening by fans and insiders, this is the first mention of him since the season ended.
McCarthy is somewhat of a polarizing candidate, though he fits the experienced mold that Borgonzi has been drawn to during the initial phase of this search. In all, he has 18 years of NFL head coaching experience with the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, a 174-112-2 regular-season record, and an 11-11 playoff record, including a Super Bowl Championship.
This interview is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, and is the latest initial interview on tap.
