Anthony Davis reportedly suffers ligament damage in hand, could miss 'a number of months'

Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is set to miss time, reportedly suffering ligament damage in his hand, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday.

Davis suffered the injury in Thursday's narrow loss to the Utah Jazz and did not return to the contest, ending his day with 21 points, 11 boards and four assists in 35 minutes played.

Charania also noted that the potential need for surgery gives Davis a "real chance" to be sidelined through the NBA's Feb. 5 trade deadline. Davis had been considered a top target ahead of the NBA trade deadline after a delayed season debut due to a calf strain.
