Sweeping changes will come to the New York Jets' offense this coming offseason. General manager Darren Mougey is currently slated to possess the No. 3 overall selection in the 2026 NFL draft. A loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 18 would clinch a top-three pick.
The Jets could attempt to draft a quarterback. The offense needs to acquire more playmakers this offseason. With notable changes expected, we've identified various players on offense who shouldn't return in 2026.

Justin Fields, QB
It's become painfully obvious that the Jets are going to release quarterback Justin Fields this offseason. He has not developed into the short-term bridge option the Jets hoped he would. Releasing Fields would create a $22 million dead-money hit with just $1 million in financial savings, but that's a manageable penalty.
Josh Reynolds, WR
The Jets brought in veteran wideout Josh Reynolds on a one-year contract to add depth and reliability to the pass-catching corps behind Garrett Wilson. Reynolds has since been overshadowed by trade acquisitions Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie III. His stint in East Rutherford has been insignificant.

Tyrod Taylor, QB
The quarterback room figures to undergo a complete overhaul this offseason. The aging Tyrod Taylor is on an expiring contract and it's difficult to envision him being back. Taylor could even weigh retirement. Either way, if he continues playing, it'll probably be elsewhere in 2026.
Max Mitchell, OT
Max Mitchell was a failed draft pick from the previous regime. The Jets have their building blocks at offensive tackle in Olu Fashanu and Armand Membou. Mitchell is a fine depth backup, but Mougey will likely prefer to hand-pick a replacement.
