Phillip Rivers will not be the Indianapolis Colts' starting quarterback in Week 18. As we know, that job belongs to Riley Leonard for this game.
However, Rivers will not be the backup either.
Head coach Shane Steichen announced on Friday that Seth Henigan will be Leonard's backup.

The Colts are not guaranteed to dress three quarterbacks on Sunday, but if they do, that will be Rivers.
Anthony Richardson remains on injured reserve.
The Colts signed Henigan to the practice squad early in the week. He has been learning the Steichen offense on the fly.
Henigan went undrafted this past April out of Memphis. He originally signed with Jacksonville and was on the Jaguars’ practice squad for a portion of the 2025 season.
At Memphis, Henigan completed 64% of his passes at 7.9 yards per attempt with 104 touchdowns to 31 interceptions over 50 career games.
A very good and disruptive Houston Texans' defense awaits the Colts' offense this week.
