There must be some difficult and serious discussions happening at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center with current Ohio State football players, because as the transfer portal window continues, we are starting to get more and more key players entering their names.
The latest is two-year right tackle Tegra Tshabola. Out of Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio, Tshabola committed to Ohio State as a four-star prospect in the class of 2022. And while Tshabola started all 16 games for the Buckeyes during the College Football Playoff national championship run in 2024, it's no secret that he was much-maligned this past season, often splitting time with the likes of Ethan Onianwa, Joshua Padilla, and Gabe VanSickle. Had Tshabola returned next season, he may have had his starting spot taken over by other options.

Head coach Ryan Day has not been shy about addressing issues during offseasons, and there's no question that the offensive line will be the biggest area he'll put his thumb on in 2026 because of the struggles against Indiana and Miami at the point of attack. This could be a sign that those efforts have begun in earnest. Tshabola will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Look for Ohio State to be very aggressive in the portal when it comes to solidifying this group for next season. And, as always, we'll continue to stay on top of all of the crazy transfer portal news as it happens.
