Kraemer wins another athlete of the week poll

SAINT CLOUD — ROCORI wrestler Trey Kraemer is the newest St. Cloud Times athlete of the week.

As voted by readers, the sophomore had the most impressive performance by area high school athletes after going 7-0 for the wrestling Spartans. He had 50.5% of the electorate and another wrestler won the second-most votes in the poll, Foley junior Lucy Rau (36%). St. Cloud Crush hockey sophomore Corbin Matanich scored two goals and had three assists and won 7.6% of votes. Rau won her class with two pins.

ROCORI competed in several meets as December closed, two the week of Dec. 14-20. On Dec. 18 the Spartans beat Princeton and home team Monticello with Kraemer logging two pins at 114 pounds. He won the 107-lb class Dec. 20 at the Redwood River Riot, helping the Spartans to an eighth-place team finish. In the invitational Kraemer had another two pins followed by two technical falls and a lopsided 7-0 decision.
