Is Patriots DT Milton Williams playing today?

New England Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams has been recovering from an ankle injury, but it looks like he will play in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

He has been out since Week 11 with a high ankle sprain that he suffered in the first meeting with the New York Jets. The star defender was placed on injured reserve following the injury.

Coach Mike Vrabel discussed Williams' injury on Friday and said that “it looks good” regarding the chances of him returning for Week 18. Williams, along with offensive tackle Will Campbell, appears to be ready to return for the season finale.

This is a big development for the Patriots. The run defense in particular struggled without Williams' presence on the line. The Patriots gave up a total of 164 rushing yards last week against the Jets. This included 111 yards from running back Breece Hall. They gave up 171 yards the previous week against the Baltimore Ravens.

Williams not only adds a huge boost to the run game, but he's also a solid pass rusher on the field. He formulated one of the best defensive tackle duos in the league when playing side-by-side with Christian Barmore. Now, the duo should get a chance to pick back up where they left off against the Dolphins.
