How social media reacted after UNC basketball lost to SMU

The North Carolina Tar Heels began the 2026 calendar year with a road trip to Dallas for their first road game in the ACC. Fresh off a win over Florida State to close out the 2025 year, the Tar Heels were looking to go 2-0 in conference play.

However, SMU had other ideas.

Despite being tied at halftime, the Mustangs caught fire from the field shooting-wise in the second half and rolled past North Carolina. That effort was led by guard Boopie Miller who led all scorers with 27 points. As a team, SMU shot 60 percent from the field and it's hard to beat anyone when they shoot that well.
