When two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Kurt Warner talks, and you’re a quarterback, you listen. Kurt Warner, who helped the then St. Louis Rams ride to prominence in the late 90s and early 2000s, got a chance to evaluate some game tape of Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, and needless to say, he was thoroughly impressed.
Checking out tape of the Broncos' Week 15 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, one of the big things that impressed Warner was Nix's ability to process the defense. To Warner, his decision-making in the early part of the game allows him to open up the field and make big-shot throws as the game progresses.
Warner also discussed how Nix uses his processing ability to maximize his arm strength. For Warner, without those small details, Nix wouldn’t be able to make the throws needed. Warner was impressed with Nix and how he could dissect the defense quickly so that he could ask the throws necessary. In this game, Nix passed for 302 yards and four touchdowns while completing 68 percent of his throws. And as Warner has alluded to, Nix is the right quarterback for the Broncos.
