“It is a party in Orchard Park, New York!”

Play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon echoed the explosive energy of Highmark Stadium as the Buffalo Bills (12-5) trounced the New York Jets (3-14), 35-8, during the NFL’s Week 18 slate.

Compensating for roster gaps in the shapes of cornerbacks Brandon Stephens and Qwan’tez Stiggers, interim defensive coordinator Chris Harris aimed to defy odds against his Jets defense, who entered the game ranked 27th in the NFL in stopping the run and were on track to be the first team in NFL history to go an entire season with zero interceptions.

The Bills had other ideas. They rushed for a total of 211 yards while backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky shined; he completed 22 of 29 passes for a formidable 259 yards (and, notably, no picks) in leading the Bills to a resounding victory.

The Jets offensive line, perhaps New York’s only hope in presenting any real challenge to Buffalo, also failed to deliver. Their lack of protection made them appear woefully outnumbered as the Jets failed two fourth-down conversion attempts and only produced a total of 129 yards between the rushing and passing games.
