If you’re someone who’s passionate about Borussia Dortmund, interested in gaining experience in writing for an audience, or just generally sharing your opinions for others to hear, then I have great news for you! We are looking for volunteer writers for Fear the Wall.
These are volunteer positions, meaning that, unfortunately, you will not be paid, at least initially. I wish we could afford to pay all our writers, but this site’s budget is tiny, and those of us who are paid make barely anything as it is. I understand that some people can only contribute if it helps pay the bills, but unfortunately, this isn’t the right place.
Ideally, you would contribute at least one article per week. While we don’t hold our volunteers to hard quotas, we are looking for people who are willing to be active in the community.
What We’re Looking For
Above all, we seek individuals who are passionate about Borussia Dortmund and eager to share innovative, thought-provoking ideas. I think this site is at its best when it publishes a variety of opinions on various topics. Whether you want to write tactical analyses, deep dives into data, satirical pieces, or heartfelt fan tributes, please feel free to contribute.
I only bring this up because I receive constant email inquiries, but we do not produce sports betting content. If that’s the type of content you want to write, please look elsewhere.
Those who are, or have been, active members of the community are encouraged to join.
You don’t need to be able to recite Inverting the Pyramid by memory, have a Master’s in data science, or have an encyclopedic knowledge of every BVB squad since 1975 to join, but some level of football expertise, especially related to BVB, is a positive.
We don’t expect you to be a perfect writer. We are happy to offer you a venue to practice and improve your writing skills, especially if English is not your first language. We only ask that you have a working-professional level of proficiency in English.

Your full name.
Your Fear the Wall username.
A brief background of yourself including where you’re from, where you went or are going to school, how you became a BVB fan, etc.
