Ducks among front-runners to land 2027 4-star WR Julian Caldwell

1 week ago 2

In recent years, the Oregon Ducks have been among the top programs as far as reeling in highly-ranked recruits at the wide receiver position, with one more in 2027 four-star Julian Caldwell potentially on the way as well.

Caldwell has a top three consisting of Oregon, the Texas Longhorns and the Texas Tech Red Raiders, per Rivals' Chad Simmons. He's scheduled to visit Eugene on Jan. 24 with a visit to Texas Tech in January as well.

The Argyle, TX, native is the No. 12 wide receiver in the 2027 class and the No. 59 player overall, per 247 Sports Composite. He is the No. 9 ranked player in the state of Texas.

By the time Caldwell would be playing for the Ducks, they should have a strong nucleus of pass catchers in Dakorien Moore, Jeremiah McClellan alongside 2026 four-stars Jalen Lott and Messiah Hampton. Head coach Dan Lanning has also been active in adding to the position through the transfer portal, with Evan Stewart (2024) and Malik Benson (2025) making tremendous impacts on the field as portal additions.

Oregon currently has just one commit in the 2027 class, as four-star EDGE Cameron Pritchett has been committed to the Ducks since June.

With a visit in the next month and Junior Days in the spring, Caldwell could be the next wide receiver to pledge his commitment to Lanning and the Ducks.
