Colorado loses starting DB

For the 3rd (really, 4th) offseason in a row, the Colorado Buffaloes will be replacing a LOT of starters. Especially on defense. The Buffs have no defensive linemen on the roster (l0l) and now most of the starting secondary is gone. Tawfiq Byard (my love) is gone, Teon Parks is gone and now DJ McKinney is gone.

McKinney was a great get for Deion Sanders two offseasons ago. He was one of the best freshmen for Oklahoma State as a freshman in the Big 12 and immediately started opposite Travis Hunter. He starred as a second DB across from the Heisman winner and was ready to step up into the lead role in 2025. That ended up being up and down for the Buffs, as McKinney took a step back and ended up not living up to his preseason first round NFL draft aspirations.

The Buffs have so much work to do when the transfer portal opens for business on January 2nd.
