Chiefs players to share their first touchdown moment in a unique way

1 week ago 2

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chris Oladokun spoke to reporters recently about retrieving and keeping his first touchdown pass, which he shared with rookie running back Brashard Smith.

“That was one of my favorite plays all week. Down there in the red zone, expecting a little man look, they actually zoned it off, and their corner’s eyes just got stuck inside, so Brashard (Smith) did a great job.” said Oladokun, “I couldn’t really see him (Brashard Smith), little small guy out there, so I had to shape it around the end. He did a great job getting into the end zone.”

The Week 17 touchdown was the first for both players, and it is usually preserved as a memento of the special moment.

“Initially, I saw the ball. He (Brashard Smith) scored and threw the ball down, and my first thought was wait, one of us needs that ball,” said Oladokun. “And then my second thought was, well, I’m hype right now, so I’m going to go celebrate with my teammates, and I didn’t see the ball again. But (Equipment Director) Allen (Wright) said he has it, and I asked if he could split it for us, and he’s going to do that too.”

The teammates will likely split the ball in two as the Chiefs quarterback explained the decision.

“I’m going to have to Google that after tonight because I have no clue, but we have a great equipment team,” said Oladokun, “so they’ll get it done for us.”

The Chiefs return to action this Sunday for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders.
