Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh is aware of the challenges his team faces when they line up against New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye on Sunday.
Maye has gone from a promising rookie to an NFL superstar overnight. He has helped carry the Patriots from the bottom of the AFC to becoming one of the best teams in the entire NFL. In only his second season, he had an MVP-caliber year that has him neck-and-neck in the race for the prestigious award, along with Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

When watching the tape, Harbaugh views Maye as an effective playmaker at the quarterback position across the board.
“Just really effective in every part of the quarterback play,” Harbaugh told media members. “Throwing with accuracy, throwing outside the numbers, deep, in the middle, athleticism, poise, toughness, durability. Everything. [It has] been a great year for him by any quarterback standard.”
The Chargers are arguably the best defensive team Maye will have faced all season.
Granted, he has been able to handle other stout defensive teams, but the playoffs are an entirely different beast. Can he knock off a well-coached Chargers team when the lights shine the brightest in the postseason? Fans won't have to wait long to find out.
