The Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Kevin Stefanski after six seasons in charge.
While the Browns ended the season on a two-year win streak, beating both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals, Stefanski managed to win just five games this year, and eight in the last two years combined. This came off of an 11-win 2023 season, a year where the Browns made the playoffs as a wildcard with Joe Flacco at quarterback.
During his tenure as the head coach in Cleveland, Stefanski won two NFL Coach of the Year awards and led the Browns to two playoff appearances in six seasons.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Stefanski is "now expected to be one of the top candidates in this hiring cycle." There has already been reported interest from the New York Giants as well. If Stefanski were to be hired by another team immediately, the Browns would not have to pay the buyout on this contract.
The Browns will now head up a search for their new head coach.
