Appleton East 75, Appleton North 54

APPLETON – Ella Sweeney poured in 23 points as the visiting Patriots downed the Lightning in Fox Valley Association action.

East raced out to a 47-31 halftime advantage and held North at bay the rest of the way.

Also reaching double-digit scoring were Aubrie Erickson with 14 points, Jenna Ott with 13 and Emilia MontMarquette with 11.

Addie Werfal led the Lightning with 15 points, while Tay Maass added 12 and Addy Campbell 10.

SHAWANO – Xavier outscored Shawano 9-3 in overtime to pick up the Bay Conference win.

Hailey Hafner and Brynn Krull scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, to lead Xavier.

Shawano was led by Leah Nordin with 27 points. Jadyn Brown scored 10.

FREEDOM – The Irish finished the game on a 10-3 scoring run to pull out the North Eastern Conference win over the Spartans.

Freedom erased a 10-point deficit in the first half and scored the final nine points of the first half. The Irish led 47-36 with nine minutes remaining in the second half before the Spartans went on a 15-1 run over a three-minute span to take the lead before Freedom stormed back to go ahead and close out the win.

Breana Dickrell and Callie Anderson combined for 24 points in the second half to help the Irish edge the Spartans.

Dickrell finished with a team-high 18 points for Freedom. Anderson added 17 points and Ava Calhoon scored 14.

Luxemburg-Casco was led by Brianna Bray with 19 points.

Kimberly led by one at the break, but Kaukauna finished on a 48-25 second-half run.

Fox Cities 5, Rochester (MN) Mayo 4

ROCHESTER - Evie Mursau and Margaret Thomas scored two goals apiece and Hailey Fischer added another as the Stars held off Rochester.

The teams traded goals in the first period before Fox Cities got two Thomas goals to take a 3-1 lead early in the second period.

Rochester battled back to tie the game, but Fischer’s shorthanded goal at the 14:37 mark of the second period gave the Stars a 4-3 edge heading into the final period.

Mursau made it 5-3 just 1:58 into the third before Mayo got a late power-play goal to pull within one.

Adding assists for the Stars were Kendall Lindemann with two and Kailey Heindel, Ally Rhoda, Lyla Cooke and Abby Thompson with one each.

Addison Grasse made 21 saves in net for Fox Cities.

SHAWANO - Appleton scored two goals in the third period to rally from a 3-1 deficit and earn the tie.

Brayden Coda, Owen Ciardelli and Gunther Kelbert scored goals for Appleton. Birk Kozlowicz and Obsa Duehring each had two assists.

Shawano/Bonduel got two goals and an assist from Gavin Hundt. Blake Swedberg had a goal and an assist.

Appleton United goalie Brady Boldt had 12 saves. Shawano/Bonduel goalie Tyson Lyons had 36 saves.

Waupaca 3, Antigo 1 (Thursday)

ANTIGO - The Comets scored three goals in the second period in the victory over the Red Robins.
