As the Lions have sunk to 8-8 this season and outside the playoffs for the first time in three years, there's lots of questions about and strong opinions on which direction the franchise should head next. That goes for both players and coaches.
In his Tuesday appearance on WXYT-FM 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked for his feelings on starting quarterback Jared Goff. Campbell emphatically shut down the idea of the franchise moving on from Goff.

"Jared Goff is a stud. He's an absolute stud. We're fortunate to have him as a quarterback. He's a winning quarterback in this league. He played at a very high level all season long. He played even better than he played the year before, and he's continued to play better.
"We're thankful to have him. I'm thankful to have him. He's an absolute stud. He's a pro. He's going nowhere," Campbell said.
Goff has been one of the NFL's statistical leaders in a number of passing categories this season. The 31-year-old quarterback has thrown for 4,233 yards to rank third in the league and is completing 68.3% of his passes. Goff's 107.0 passer rating also ranks third and his 33 passing touchdowns rank second behind only the Rams' Matthew Stafford.

Goff's career record as a starting quarterback is 89-60-1 across 10 NFL seasons and is 47-33-1 in his five seasons with the Lions.
The Lions close their 2025 season at the Chicago Bears (11-5) on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.
