The Green Bay Packers made a logical decision in Week 18 with their starting QB.

Knowing that they couldn't be anything but the 7-seed in the NFC, they didn't start Jordan Love or Malik Willis. Clayton Tune started instead.

But then the Packers made an odd choice behind Tune.

This week, they signed Desmond Ridder to the practice squad. But they didn't elevate him.

Love is Tune's backup on Sunday, not Ridder.

Why is Jordan Love the Packers' backup QB today?

The Packers must've decided that Ridder wasn't ready to get on the field if Tune got hurt.

It does create some risk, though.

The Athletic's Matt Schneidman pointed it out in this post on X:

Green Bay fans will be hoping Tune stays upright and intact to protect Love heading into the playoffs.
