After entering the transfer portal after his redshirt-sophomore season at Michigan State, Cooper Terpstra is headed south.
The Holland native and West Ottawa graduate has committed to the University of Central Florida, a power-four program in the Big 12. He has two years of college eligibility remaining.

A 6-foot-4, 315 pound interior offensive lineman, Terpstra only got action in one game this season for the Spartans, the finale against Maryland.

Terpstra started at center in the game in place of MSU's Matt Gulbin, and was at his best. Terpstra played all 71 snaps, registered an outstanding 79.6 grade in run blocking, 61.8 in pass blocking and a 74.8 overall grade according to PFF.

The former all-state offensive tackle at West Ottawa moved to the interior line when he walked on at Michigan State, then earned a scholarship.

He would have been in the mix for a possible starting position at Michigan State under new coach Pat Fitzgerald, but will now look for the same opportunity at UCF.
"It is a great campus. I am so excited. Everyone is excited about this program, and I can't wait to be a part of it," Terpstra and UCF football posted on social media. "We need to shoot super high and aim for championships."
