Several Los Angeles Rams assistants have been rumored and/or connected to vacant head coaching positions around the NFL. As such, reports of interview requests will start to surface as teams begin their hiring process to fill the most important role on their respective sidelines.
But with the Rams currently in the playoffs, there are strict rules laid out by the NFL for when a team can interview a prospective head coach that's employed by a team competing for a Super Bowl.

For one, as NFL Network's Tom Pelissero explained on X, no coach currently employed by an NFL team can interview for a head coaching job in person until Jan. 19. That's the week between the division round and the conference championship games.
As for virtual interviews, those can't begin until Jan. 13 for coaches whose current team is in the wild-card round, or Jan. 14 if that wild-card game is on Monday night. This means that assistants for the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos can have virtual interviews starting Jan. 6.
So for Rams assistants like Chris Sula, Mike LaFleur, Aubrey Pleasant and Nate Scheelhaase, they'll have to wait until the Tuesday after the team's wild-card match with the Carolina Panthers before they can talk to a prospective team.

The rules change again for the divisional round, but that's a discussion for a later time.
