Watch: Patriots score first touchdown vs. Dolphins on three run plays

1 week ago 2

The New England Patriots scored the first touchdown of the game against the Miami Dolphins, courtesy of a run from running back TreVeyon Henderson.

He took it five yards out for the score, bringing an end to a drive that took three plays, seven yards and 1:46 off the clock. If you blinked, you would have missed the entire opening drive from the Patriots.

It came on three running plays, including a nine-yard run by Rhamondre Stevenson, a 56-yard run by Stevenson and the five-yard run by Henderson. No one has questioned the Patriots' explosive passing game, but there have been concerns about their ability to run the ball consistently.

It was a great early sign to see both Stevenson and Henderson get the ground game going.

The ability to run the ball effectively opens everything else up offensively for the Patriots. It will be a key deciding factor in how far the Patriots ultimately advance in the postseason.
