The winner of the last SouthCoast Girls Athlete of the Week poll was Apponequet's Peyton Savageau. She had 93% of the vote.

Against Old Rochester, Savageau won the shot put with a school-record throw of 31-11.

The winner of the SouthCoast Preseason Girls Hockey Player of the Year poll was Bishop Stang's Alexis Pettinato (Dighton-Rehoboth).

Here's your chance to vote for the top high school performance among SouthCoast girls athletes from Dec. 22-Jan. 4. 

(Editor's Note: Voting will end on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m.)

Here’s a look at last week’s top performers (listed in alphabetical order by school):

GIRLS HOCKEY

Alexis Pettinato, Bishop Stang

Pettinato scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Stang past Dennis-Yarmouth 2-1. She also had a combined 2 goals and 1 assist in a pair of wins over Central Catholic and Marshfield.

Tenley Simmons, Bishop Stang

Simmons had a combined 40 saves to earn a pair of shutout wins over Arlington Catholic and Central Catholic.

Vivienne Melo, Bishop Stang

Melo had a combined 31 saves in a pair of wins over Dennis-Yarmouth and Marshfield.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Aliyana Arugello, New Bedford

Arguello won the 200 freestyle (2:25.71) and 500 freestyle (6:21.64) at the Milford Holiday Invitational.

Destiny Coleman, New Bedford

At the Milford Holiday Invitational, Coleman took first in the 200 IM (sectional qualifying 2:29.76) and 100 butterfly (1:06.76).

Serenity Coleman, New Bedford

Coleman won the 50 freestyle (state qualifying 26.15) and 100 backstroke (state-qualifying 1:05.08) at the Milford Holiday Invitational.

Trinity Coleman, New Bedford

Coleman qualified for sectionals in the 100 breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:18.54 at the Milford Holiday Invitational. She also came in second in the 100 freestyle (1:00.98).

VOTE: Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 22-Jan. 4

GIRLS TRACK

Ellie Duffy, Bishop Stang

Duffey took first in the 300 (45.02), 600 (1:48.46) and long jump (13-8) against Wareham.

Helena Morrison, Bishop Stang

Against Wareham, Morrison won the mile (5:53.39) and 2-mile (14:18.54).

Nevaeh Escobar, GNB Voc-Tech

Escobar took first in the 1,000 (3:30.54) and long jump (13-8.75) against Old Rochester.

Phoebe Cowles, Old Rochester

In a win over GNB Voc-Tech, Cowles set the school record in the 600 with a first-place time of 1:42.54. She also won the 300 (45.16).

Annalise Milhench, Old Rochester

Milhench took first in the mile (6:03.72) and 2-mile (12:53.38) against Voc-Tech.

Sienna Cabe, Wareham

Cabe took first in the 55 dash (8.27), the 55 hurdles (10.00), the high jump (4-6) and the long jump (14-1.5) in a win over Bishop Stang.
