Texas Football's frustrating 2025 campaign has come to an end. But the Longhorns ended it on a very high note, pulling away from the Michigan Wolverines in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. The 41-27 victory in Orlando had to feel like some form of validation for a team that was easily better than several teams in the college football playoff.
The win also was a coronation of sorts for Texas quarterback Arch Manning. Manning, who had as much preseason hype as any new starting QB in history, struggled early in the season. But, in the back half of the 2025 season, Manning started to live up to those lofty expectations. He looked close to the finished product in Camping World Stadium on New Year's Eve.

Manning's stat line was very reminiscent to Vince Young. Arch finished the game 21 of 34 for 221 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also had an amazing 155 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just nine carries.
The Horns let out all of the emotion from the ups and downs of the season in the postgame celebration after the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl win. And the game sponsor does a good job of integrating its product in a fun way.
Instead of a Gatorade bath, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian got a cooler of crackers poured over him. Cheez-It has a mascot called "Prince Cheddward." Both Sark and Manning work the prince's crown after the game. Manning even donned the cape.
The players enjoyed themselves. Hopefully, those vibes carry over into a 2026 campaign that will have off the charts expectations.
