Ilia Malinin closes out Day 2 of nationals with his short program, and highlights another crop of 2026 Winter Olympic hopefuls who have major potential to win medals in Milano Cortina. Malinin has transformed the skating world, is the three-time defending U.S. champion, and is the Olympic gold medal favorite. Also in action is the dominant ice dance duo of Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who are trying to capture their astonishing fifth straight U.S. crown.
