Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen had seen enough.
So, presumably, had the Tennessee Titans.
Coen elected to pull quarterback Trevor Lawrence out of Sunday’s game against the Titans at EverBank Stadium with 12:37 left when the Jaguars had a 34-7 lead and a firm grip on the victory and the AFC South Championship. Backup quarterback Nick Mullens came in and led the Jags to another TD, a 2-yard run by Bhayshul Tuten, to make the score 41-7.

The tipping point with when Lawrence came out was 4,000 yards passing. He reached that number for the season with a 23-yard gain to Parker Washington and immediately left on the next play. Lawrence finished with 4,007 yards, 9 yards short of his career high in 2022, and threw 29 TD passes, passing his career high of 25 that season.
Lawrence was nearly perfect in the first half, after a disastrous first possession when he was sacked by Jeffrey Simmons on the first play of the game for an 8-yard loss, then threw two incomplete passes.

After that, Lawrence completed 16 of 17 passes for 181 yards and three touchdown passes. He hit wide receiver Parker Washington with a 23-yard TD pass, tight end Brenton Strange with a 7-yard TD pass and tight end Quintin Morris on a 5-yard scoring play, his first as a Jaguar.

Cam Little’s 67-yard field goal on the final play of the first half gave the Jags a 31-7 lead. He now has the two longest field goals in NFL history, adding the kick to his NFL-record 68-yarder against Las Vegas.
Trevor Lawrence set two franchise records
Lawrence accomplished two other milestones besides clinching a division title for the second time in his career and breaking 4,000 yards.
He passed Blake Bortles for second place on the team’s career passing yardage list. Lawrence entered the game with 17,567 yards and needed 80 to pass Bortles. Lawrence reached that number and passed it with an 11-yard completion to Strange early in the second quarter.

Lawrence also set the franchise record for total touchdowns in one season with 38, breaking Bortles' record of 37 in 2015. Lawrence scored nine touchdowns to go with 29 TD passes.
