The transfer portal is not just for college football.
At least three high school football players – all key to their respective teams last season – have transferred to new schools for the second semester.

Kei’Von Mattox, who caught 41 passes for 466 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore last season as a sophomore at Brebeuf Jesuit, said Thursday that he has transferred to Lawrence North. The Wildcats are expected to have several key players back from last year’s 7-3 team, including quarterback Darian Prather, receiver Monshun Sales and running back Izayveon Moore.
Markell Bailey, who led Franklin Central with 36 receptions for 629 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore, has transferred to North Central, he said. Bailey was one of the top sophomore receivers in the state last season. The Panthers ended a 32-game losing streak last season, finishing 2-8 in Collin Coffer’s first year as coach.
Pike sophomore quarterback Mychael Lewis has transferred to Carmel, Red Devils’ coach Mike Brevard confirmed. Lewis completed 52% of his passes for 809 yards and four TDs as a sophomore and ran for 583 yards and five TDs. He played as a freshman, passing for 343 yards and four TDs and running for 163 yards and three TDs.

Under the Indiana High School Athletic Association first time transfer rule implemented last spring, all three players would have full eligibility as first time transfers before their senior year.
