The portal is in full swing and the bullets are flying. Texas has had a busy the first two days as anyone, with at least 10 players already on campus and more coming this week. The Longhorns sit in a good spot for a number of their priority targets, like Cam Coleman, but there’s work to be done.
Here’s where Texas sits as we roll into day three of the portal madness:

Issac Brown - Louisville RB
This is the only negative news for the Longhorns yesterday. Issac Brown has yet to officially enter the portal and it seems Louisville is pushing very hard to keep him a Cardinal. Texas would be in a fantastic position if he were to officially enter the portal, but that’s no longer a sure thing. A decision, one way or another, is likely to come soon but the Longhorns could be searching for a new RB target.
Wes King - Wyoming OG
The offensive line work has begun and Wes King is a new name to watch. Texas are interested in Andrew Sprague and Jake Guarnera from Michigan, and seem to be in a solid spot in both. Wes King would be another great addition and he was on campus yesterday, with visits to Kansas State and West Virginia (possibly) coming. King has started three straight years for Wyoming, playing 1,750 snaps and hasn’t given up a sack. That’s the experience and production Texas sorely needs on the interior.
Bo Mascoe - Rutgers CB
A new secondary player Texas is inviting into Austin soon is Bo Mascoe, Rutgers CB. Ranked the #4 CB in the portal currently, Mascoe started his first two years at Rutgers, one of which was under current Longhorns CB coach, Mark Orphey. Mascoe totaled 53 tackles and an INT this season and would bring an experienced piece to add to a youthful CB room for Texas. Ohio State has interest as well, but the Orphey connection could give Texas the upperhand here.
Kenny Ozowalu - UTSA DL
The Longhorns continue to be aggressive on the defensive line, now it’s potential-filled Kenny Ozowalu out of UTSA. Ozowalu will be on campus today, according to Eric Nahlin of Inside Texas. Ozowalu had 6 TFLs and 3 sacks in his rookie campaign for the Roadrunners and the athletic ability is clear. This might not be someone who starts day one for the Horns, but could be an impact player for multiple years to come.
Mac Chuimento - Florida State P
Texas seems to be sitting in a solid spot with Memphis kicker Gianni Spetic to replace Mason Shipley, so now it’s time to replace Jack Bouwmeester. In comes Mac Chuimento, who averaged 44 yards/punt on 27 punts in 2025, 13 of which were downed inside the 20-yard line. Chuimento is expected on campus today and I imagine the Longhorns are looking to lock him up before he can talk to anyone else.
Texas Retention Efforts
This is where the best news of the day came. Trevor Goosby, Longhorns star LT, and Ty’Anthony Smith, budding star LB, have signed deals to return to Texas in 2026. Smith was expected, but you never take anything for granted in today’s college football, and getting him locked in for 2026 is huge.

Goosby is likely larger, given the fact he could’ve very well ended up as a first round pick this April. He has decided to come back to not be a fringe first rounder, but to be a top 10 pick like Kelvin Banks Jr.. This brings needed stability to the Texas offensive line and gives Texas one of the best LTs in the country in 2026.
More Transfer Portal Notes
Jadan Baugh: The Florida star RB has yet to make a decision on his future, but the longer it draws out, the more it’s likely to favor the Longhorns. Time will tell here.
Cam Coleman: Coleman expected to leave Austin today and likely visit Texas A&M and Alabama, with USC, Texas Tech and others trying to get visits as well. Obviously, Texas wanted to lock him up yesterday, but they still seem to be in the lead here.
