Texas A&M set to host Tennessee transfer OL in the near future

4 days ago 2

Texas A&M's offensive line will undergo significant changes this offseason. After junior left guard Chase Bisontis officially declared for the 2026 NFL Draft on Tuesday afternoon, left tackle Trey Zuhn, right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, and right tackle Dametreous Crownover will also depart, while center Mark Nabou is expected to return in 2026.

This week, Elko and his staff reportedly hosted NC State transfer left tackle Jacarrius Peak on Tuesday. At the same time, On3's Pete Nakos confirmed that Tennessee transfer tackle Lance Heard, who started 13 games at left tackle for the Volunteers during the 2025 season.

After landing transfer commits from guards Coen Echols and Trovon Baugh, it's clear that head coach Mike Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing are likely to make a full-court press effort to land both veteran tackles. Peak was one of the best pass protectors in the country last season. Heard was equally impressive, earning solid Pro Football Focus pass pro (73.9) and run blocking (69.5) grades.

On paper, Echols and Baugh could easily slot in at left and right guard, while Peak would likely become the starting left tackle, leaving Heard at right tackle, which shouldn't be a tough transition. However, if the Aggies only land Heard, I expect him to compete for the left tackle job.
