Texas A&M will undergo major changes along the defensive line heading into the 2026 season, with several key contributors moving on. One departure that will hit especially hard is senior interior defensive lineman Albert Regis, who announced that he will officially enter the 2026 NFL Draft.
Regis has been a constant presence in Aggieland. He stayed committed to the program through coaching turnover—first after Jimbo Fisher’s firing, then following Elijah Robinson’s move to Syracuse. And whenever he was on the field, his impact was unmistakable.

In a season defined by inconsistency against the run, Regis remained one of the few dependable anchors. He consistently clogged the interior, disrupted blocking schemes, and did the dirty work that rarely shows up in box scores but is essential to keeping linebackers clean.
His value was never clearer than in the College Football Playoff matchup against Miami. For most of the game, the Hurricanes’ rushing attack was held in check by Texas A&M’s standards. But once Regis exited with an injury, everything changed. Miami’s ground game erupted, exploiting the void he left in the middle. It felt as if the floodgates had opened—and the Hurricanes didn’t hesitate to capitalize.
Regis gave the Aggies four tough, reliable, and selfless years. Now, he turns his attention to the next chapter. On Tuesday, he made it official, declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Below is the news in a statement on Instagram.
The NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
