Tennessee offensive tackle Bennett Warren plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced on Jan. 1
His announcement came shortly before starting left tackle Lance Heard announced that he's also headed to the portal. Warren served as Heard's backup in the 2025 season as a redshirt freshman.

The transfer portal opens on Jan. 2.
Warren played 18 games over two seasons at Tennessee, including all 13 games in 2025. Most of his snaps came on special teams as other linemen pulled ahead of him on the depth chart.
Jesse Perry, another redshirt freshman, started at right guard and right tackle. And then five-star freshman David Sanders started at right tackle in the second half of the season. But the departure of Warren, Heard and other linemen could put Tennessee in the market for transfers on the offensive line.
Warren is a 6-foot-7, 325-pounder from Houston. He was a four-star recruit in the 2024 class, ranked No. 11 among offensive tackles by 247Sports Composite.
