No. 22 Tennessee (11-4, 1-1 SEC) defeated Texas (9-6, 0-2 SEC), 85-71, Tuesday at Food City Center.
The Vols led, 48-33, at halftime.
Tuesday's victory was Tennessee's fifth consecutive win over the Longhorns.

Ja'Kobi Gillespie scored a career-high 34 points, including 22 points in the first half. He also totaled five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Gillespie converted 12-of-18 field goal attempts, 5-of-8 three-point attempts and 5-of-5 free throw attempts. He was one of four Tennessee players to score 10-plus points in the contest.
J.P. Estrella recorded 11 points and six rebounds for Tennessee, which scored 27 points off 16 Texas turnovers. The Vols also outrebounded the Longhorns, 37-31.
Jaylen Carey and DeWayne Brown II scored 10 points each for Tennessee. Carey also had four rebounds and one assist, while Brown II finished with four rebounds and one block for the Vols, who committed 13 turnovers.
Tramon Mark scored 20 points to lead Texas. He also recorded five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

Tennessee next plays Saturday when it travels to Florida to face the defending national champion Gators. Tipoff is slated for noon EST in Gainesville, Florida.
