Tennessee baseball ranked top 15 ahead of Josh Elander's first season

The 2026 baseball season will be the first for Tennessee under head coach Josh Elander. He replaces Tony Vitello who served in the same capacity from 2018-25, winning one national championship, two SEC regular-season titles and two SEC Tournament championships.

Elander was Tennessee's associate head coach and recruiting coordinator from 2022-25. He was also the Vols' assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2018-22.

Tennessee will open its baseball season Feb. 13 versus Nicholls State for a three-game nonconference series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee enters its 2026 campaign ranked No. 14 in D1Baseball's preseason top 25 poll.

UCLA (1), LSU (2), Texas (3), Mississippi State (4), Georgia Tech (5), Coastal Carolina (6), Arkansas (7), Louisville (8), Auburn (9) and TCU (10) are ranked in the top 10.

Florida (13), Georgia (15), Kentucky (18), Vanderbilt (23) and Texas A&M (25) are also ranked from the SEC.
