One of the top safeties that the Oregon Ducks played this season in the Minnesota Golden Gophers' Koi Perich, who recently entered the transfer portal, is expected to plan a visit to Oregon, per CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Perich is rated as a four-star and ranked as the No. 1 safety and No. 12 player in the 2026 transfer portal class, per 247 Sports. He was also a four-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting class.

Along with being expected to go on a visit to Oregon, Perich is set to visit Texas Tech tomorrow (Jan. 8). The Ducks' College Football Playoff run, which has the team currently in Atlanta, GA, is the likely reason that Perich hasn't nailed down a date to visit Eugene.
Perich is ranked the top safety transfer for a reason, as he contributed to both offense, defense and special teams for the Golden Gophers as a true freshman in 2024. He finished with five interceptions from his safety position despite starting just three games.
He did more as a true sophomore this season, once again playing in every game and finishing with 82 tackles, two passes defensed, and a sack, a formed fumble and an interception apiece. He also returned kicks and punts for Minnesota, while carrying the ball five times for nine yards and catching seven passes for 89 yards, showcasing his two-way versatility and talent.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was an All-Big Ten Second Team selection as a safety in 2025 and an All-Big Ten Second Team return specialist in 2024.
With current starting safety Dillon Thieneman potentially off to the NFL, the Ducks could use another playmaking safety to fill that role in the defense.
Perich will have two seasons of eligibility.
