The Somerset Lady Jumpers concluded play at their own Holiday Classic on Tuesday as they took on the Clinton County Lady Bulldogs.

It was a game full of momentum swings, with the game being tied with just seconds left on the clock. Just as it looked like it was going to head to overtime, eighth grader Addie Waddle drove to the basket and connected with the game-winning layup, giving the Jumpers a strong 65-63 victory to conclude their event with style. Waddle was named Player of the Game following the contest, with Sophie Barnes being named to the All-Tournament Team.

Somerset improves to 5-6 with the victory and will be back on the road on Friday, as they take on the Rockcastle County Lady Rockets in a district battle.

Lady Maroons conclude tournament with win

The Pulaski County Lady Maroons competed for fifth place at the Lady Invitational of The South on Tuesday, as they took on Madisonville-North Hopkins in a battle of the Lady Maroons. It was another strong showing for Pulaski, as they ran away with a dominant 70-40 victory over their opponents to claim fifth place in the tournament with a record of 3-1, with their lone loss coming to the eventual winners of the tournament in Bishop Brossart.

Pulaski improves to 9-4 with the win and will next travel to Casey County for a district contest against the Lady Rebels on Friday.

Warriors win in overtime against South Laurel

The Southwestern Warriors were in the third place game at the Redmond Auto Group Classic at Bell County on Tuesday, taking on the South Laurel Cardinals. It was a game that went into an overtime period, but one that the Warriors eventually won by a final score of 64-60.

Jarrett Simpson led the way with 18 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, while Zach Hutchinson also notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Other scorers included Brady Hansen with 13, Wyatt Stevenson with six, Kaden Campbell with five, Cade Hudson with four, Landon Baldwin with two and Aiden Webb with one.

Southwestern improves to 9-3 with the win and will next travel to Wayne County next Tuesday for a district clash with the Cardinals.
