For the second straight game, Texas A&M needed every last second—and then some—to escape with a narrow win, outlasting Auburn 90–88 in a chaotic finish at Reed Arena.
This one had everything: big runs, turnovers, momentum swings, and the kind of aggressive, physical basketball that has quickly become the identity of Bucky McMillan’s squad. A&M came out firing, punching Auburn in the mouth early and building a quick lead. But the Tigers’ sheer size and athleticism eventually tilted the first half, allowing them to claw back and take a ten‑point advantage into the locker room.

The teams traded buckets for the first eight minutes of the second half before the Aggies exploded on a massive run, flipping the game and surging ahead 80–60 with five minutes remaining. But in true Texas A&M fashion, the drama was far from over. Auburn stormed back behind pressure defense and late‑game fouls that consistently went their way, forcing turnovers and getting to the line. Meanwhile, A&M struggled to close the door, missing key free throws and opening the window for a comeback.
Then came the chaos.
With seconds remaining, Pop Isaacs intentionally missed a free throw to bleed the clock, but they said he missed the rim, and the Tigers ended up with the ball. Auburn inbounded the ball, heaved up a desperation three, and nailed it—sending the Tigers into celebration mode, believing they had stolen the win at the buzzer.
But the officials immediately signaled for a review. After a lengthy pause, the ruling was overturned: the shot came after the horn. The basket was waved off, and Texas A&M walked away with the win, sparking a firestorm of reactions across social media.
