The former Cape Town City man set-up Sodiq Awujoola in the 38th minute, to ensure his side goes into the interval with a 2-1 lead.
Lakay has scored two goals and provided three assists in 17 matches across all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, with the win, Cleopatra are now five points clear at the summit of the Egyptian topflight standings, having picked up 32 points in 14 matches.
However, Lakay's team has played two games more than closest title rivals including Pyramids FC, Al Ahly SC, and Zamalek SC.
Cleopatra will visit Al Masry SC in their next league outing on Wednesday, 28 January, as they look to consolidate their title credentials.
