Ruben Amorim faces an uncertain future at Manchester United after the manager’s strained relationship with the club’s director of football Jason Wilcox, per The Guardian.
Amorim believed the club’s hierarchy would back him in the winter transfer window should a major signing become available.

But they are reportedly unwilling to do that, which has made the Portuguese boss unhappy.
United’s co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe previously stated that Amorim would be given three years to prove himself.
But there are now reservations within the hierarchy regarding the former Sporting Lisbon boss.
Amorim’s comments after Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Leeds United have further strained relations.
The 40-year-old claimed he wanted to be the club’s manager and not just the coach. He also said he may move on when his contract expires in 18 months.
Amorim took over the club in November 2024 and led them to a 15th-place Premier League finish.

The Red Devils spent over £200 million to bring in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens.
United’s performances have improved this season, but they are currently enduring a poor run, with a single win from five matches leaving them sixth in the standings.
The Manchester titans played out a 1-1 draw with Leeds at the weekend, with Cunha scoring the equaliser three minutes after Brendan Aaronson’s goal in the second-half.
