LSU’s been busy in the transfer portal, and it’s been hard for me to keep up with all the additions. Since we last talked, the Tigers have added eight more players to their portal haul, and they’re not done yet. Let’s do a quick rundown of who Lane Kiffin and company have gotten into the transfer class.
January 8
The Tigers stocked up on both sides of the line of scrimmage Thursday. Defensively LSU poached two players from within the SEC, whereas the Tigers dipped down into the lower levels for a couple of offensive additions.

The run on Thursday started with adding former South Carolina edge Jaylen Brown. Brown began his collegiate career with Missouri, before transferring to South Carolina. He never saw the field for the Gamecocks, however, as a knee injury caused him to miss the entire 2025 season. Now, he’ll follow new LSU defensive line coach Sterling Lucas to Baton Rouge.
Auburn defensive tackle Malik Blocton was the next addition. In two years on The Plains, Blocton has played in 24 games with 10 starts. He’s had a quality college career so far, with 34 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, and two sacks.
After a lot of hand wringing and gnashing of teeth, LSU added some offensive linemen, though probably two you’ve never heard of. The Tigers added Ja’Quan Sprinkle from North Carolina Central and JaKolby Jones from Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
In their college careers, Sprinkle has played in 27 games, while Jones has played in 19 games. Both players have two years of eligibility remaining. Sprinkle is listed at 6’3”, 295 pounds and was a Second-Team MEAC selection this season; Jones, who is from Many, Louisiana, is listed as 6’5”, 295.

If Thursday was dedicated toward the lines of scrimmage, Friday was geared toward the skill positions, with a dash of defense sprinkled in.
The day started when LSU added former five-star defensive end Jordan Ross. The ex-Tennessee Volunteer was a Freshman All-SEC in 2024, and in 2025 had 23 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
LSU then signed a couple of wide receivers: one from nearby, and one from far away. First LSU went up to Illinois to snag Malik Elzy, and then they headed over to Lake Charles to bring in McNeese State’s Josh Jackson.
Elzy wasn’t heavily used with Illinois, catching a combined 16 passes in his three seasons there. He left the program in September to preserve his redshirt, and will have two seasons of eligibility.

Jackson is a New Orleans native, prepping at St. Aug. He began his college career at UAB, before coming back home to Louisiana. This year with McNeese, Jackson 20 passes for 258 yards. Elzy and Jackson now give LSU six wide receivers added through the portal. Now as to who’s actually going to be throwing them the ball this upcoming season? Well, we’re still waiting on that answer. Lane Kiffin is in Knoxville right now to try and get back in Sam Leavitt’s good graces. We’ll see how that goes.
LSU also added Treylan James, a defensive back out of Southern. Listed at 6’3”, 190, James had 39 tackles, 3 TFLs, and was credited with six PBUs this past season.
