Ricardo Pepi reportedly drawing transfer interest from Fulham

It’s nearly January which means that the January transfer window is set to open. While the week between New Years and Christmas is typically a time void that feels as if it spans anywhere from three to 47 days where sleep and meal schedules are wildly jostled about ahead of the return to schools and offices, football clubs are busy planning moves for the second half of their seasons. That means there are gifts that could be opened in the form of transfer moves to begin the year.

This year that could be Ricardo Pepi heading to Fulham for upwards of $50 million according to The Daily Mail. The report notes that the Cottagers are in need of help upfront and are willing to spend a tidy sum to bring in the right player. Pepi was linked to the club in the past and his showing with PSV this year has kept that interest strong. The striker has 10 goals and 3 assists across playing in the Eredivisie and Champions League while being in and out of the starting XI.

Moving to the Premier League would obviously be a step forward for Pepi, but it may also risk his playing time ahead of the World Cup. At 22, he is getting attention in top leagues in Europe and it should only be a matter of time before he moves onto a higher level of competition, it’s yet to be seen if the timing of that move is right at this moment.
