Could a huge part of the Carolina Panthers' current braintrust be headed to a division rival?
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Atlanta Falcons will interview Panthers executive vice president of football operations Brandt Tilis for their newly-created "Football President" position. Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the interview is set to take place on Thursday—two days ahead of Carolina's wild-card round matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Tilis was hired by the Panthers in January of 2024, after spending 14 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. He'd play a part in building three Super Bowl-winning teams—in 2019, 2022 and 2023—as their director of football administration and, later, vice president of football operations.
The Falcons are also expected to interview Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham, Detroit Lions chief operating officer Mike Disner, San Francisco 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams and former quarterback and current CBS Sports analyst Matt Ryan for the job.
