Early in the week, head coach Shane Steichen was non-committal when it came to who would get the starting snaps. He was weighing whether to give Leonard a chance or stick with Phillip Rivers.
Anthony Richardson remains on injured reserve, and it is not known at this time if he will be activated for the Week 18 finale.
