Recap: 40-point scorer not enough in OKC Blue's 110-84 loss to Texas Legends

The G League's OKC Blue were outmatched in a 110-84 loss to the Texas Legends on Friday. The home defeat dropped their record to 1-5 on the season.

This was a one-half matchup. The Blue actually had a 26-24 lead after the first quarter. The scoreboard went back and forth in the infancy stages. That continued through the second frame as OKC had 20 points. Things were tied at 46 points apiece at halftime.

It didn't take long after the break for the Blue to fall behind. They only scored 23 points in the third quarter. Eventually, they fell into a double-digit hole. At the very least, the score was close as OKC was in a 76-69 deficit after the frame.

Alas, a 29-8 run by Texas put this one away. The Blue eventually trailed by as many as 29 points. The offense couldn't keep up down the stretch as it boiled down to Zhaire Smith being the only guy on OKC who could create his own bucket. They were outscored 34-15 in the final frame as they let go of the rope.

The Blue shot 33% from the field and went 6-of-24 (25%) from 3. They shot 7-of-9 on free throws. They had 21 assists on 34 baskets. Three Blue players scored double-digit points.

Meanwhile, the Legends shot 40% from the field and went 12-of-49 (24.5%) from 3. They shot 12-of-20 on free throws. They had 24 assists on 38 baskets. Four Legends players scored double-digit points.

Kendall Munson: 10 points on 5-of-16 shooting, six rebounds, two assists
Manny Obaseki: six points on 3-of-20 shooting, 10 rebounds, four assists, three steals
Miles Kelly: 32 points on 32 points on 11-of-24 shooting, 7-of-14 from 3, three rebounds, two assists
Dalano Banton: 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting, 2-of-7 from 3, 3-of-3 on free throws, six assists
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl: 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, 1-of-3 from 3, 12 rebounds
Moussa Cisse: 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting, 3-of-5 on free throws, 16 rebounds, six blocks
