The Los Angeles Rams have already clinched a playoff spot heading into Week 18, so they'll be preparing for a postseason game after their regular-season finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
However, teams that didn't make the postseason may begin their searches for new head coaches and general managers if they wish, and while the Rams won't be part of that group, they do have at least one candidate to run a team's front office.

On Friday, the MMQB's Albert Breer identified Rams assistant general manager John McKay as a "hot name to watch" to be a future general manager.
"An NFL double-legacy (his dad is Falcons exec Rich McKay, his grandfather is the legendary John McKay), McKay was promoted last year from pro scouting director to assistant GM," Breer wrote. "And where Rams GM Les Snead’s department has been raided the way you’d might expect over the last decade, the success of Brad Holmes in Detroit and now James Gladstone in Jacksonville could have folks taking a closer look in Los Angeles for names.
"McKay initially worked at the league office, then came up on the pro-scouting side in L.A. And since so many of Snead’s people work remotely, McKay being in-house has allowed him to be there for a lot of the biggest decisions over the last few years."
McKay has been with the Rams for 10 seasons, and with this being just his first as the assistant general manager, other teams may pass on him this year until he gets more experience. However, working with Snead and Sean McVay seems to get some people hired quicker than others, so there's a chance that McKay gets an opportunity to follow in his father's footsteps in 2026.
