The New England Patriots made a couple of practice squad moves on Tuesday. They announced that they have signed defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms Jr. and released cornerback Brandon Crossley.
Pharms has appeared in three games for the Patriots this season as a roster elevation. He was signed to the 53-man roster on December 27 and played in limited action against the New York Jets. He originally joined the Patriots back in July 2022.

Crossley was signed as a free agent by the Patriots in May. The rookie defensive back had yet to take an NFL snap in a regular-season game before being let go. After being released earlier, he most recently re-signed to the Patriots' practice squad on November 26.
Pharms has been a reliable practice squad option that the Patriots can go to in a pinch to help boost their defensive line. So it's no surprise that they would want him back on the team. The defensive front has been banged up in the second half of the season, and that extra depth could be important in the playoffs.
