Parsons sent out social media updates on Monday, including a photo of himself preparing for surgery.

Per Parsons, the operation went well:

Parsons tore his ACL in Denver on Sunday, Dec. 14. It is standard for athletes to allow the swelling in the knee to go down before surgery, and Parsons was recently in Dallas for the birth of his child. Surgery was completed 15 days post-injury.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Parsons had a "clean" ACL tear, indicating no other major ligaments were damaged.

With surgery complete, Parsons now has at least nine months' worth of recovery and rehab ahead. In the days immediately after his injury, Parsons suggested that returning to the field by September of 2026 is his goal. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley boldly predicted Parsons would come back stronger and break the single season sack record in 2026.

Parsons was a game-wrecking force for the Packers before his injury, producing 12.5 sacks and an NFL-high 83 pressures through 15 weeks. Green Bay acquired Parsons in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys before the start of the regular season.
