Foot Mercato have reported that the current holder of the Ballon d’Or, Ousmane Dembélé (28), has rejected a contract offer at Paris Saint-Germain. However, this report has now been denied by the Frenchman’s entourage.
PSG, ever since the arrival of Luís Campos as sporting advisor, have been unwilling to hand out mega contracts to players, as they did to the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., Kylian Mbappé… during the “bling-bling” era. It is – at least in part – why Gianluigi Donnarumma walked away over the summer, joining Manchester City.

Foot Mercato reported that the same issues are now emerging in talks between Dembélé and PSG. L’Équipe have confirmed that there is a gap between the player’s demands and what the club are willing to offer.
However, talking to Le Parisien, the Ballon d’Or winner’s entourage have categorically denied having refused a contract extension offer, stating that no offer has yet been tabled by the reigning European champions. With Dembélé’s current deal running until 2028, talks are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
